Bolt-on Hoop Load Bars

Bolt-on hoop cargo bars are designed to help prevent cargo from sliding forward, backward, or sideways while going down the road. These bars offer a much larger surface area than traditional cargo bars, making them particularly ideal for top-heavy or palletized cargo applications such as crates, drums, or boxed freight. Trucking Depot’s cargo bars are constructed from heavy-duty steel materials to withstand repeated impact from shifting freight.

Drivers can install multiple hoop bars to help divide the trailer into cargo zones. This helps keep the freight organized and utilizes the available trailer space, which helps reduce or even eliminate wasted trips. Hoop bars are made with non-slip rubber feet at each end of the bar. The rubber non-slip feet help hold the bars in place while driving over bumps and potholes.

One of the reasons bolt-on hoops are often the preferred choice among professionals is that they can be disassembled and stored inside the rig when not in use. This helps prevent theft or wasted trailer space by storing the bars inside the trailer.

For drivers transporting similar types of cargo, our weld on hoop bars are constructed as a more permanent shoring solution made with high-quality welds.

What Are Cargo Bars?

Cargo bars (also called cargo load lock bars or load distribution bars) are made from either heavy-duty steel or aluminum to prevent cargo from moving forward, backward, or from side to side of enclosed trailers. This helps to improve the safety of the driver or dockworkers when opening the rear trailer doors, as cargo shifts can cause the cargo to lean against the dock doors or even fall out toward the driver when unloading.

Cargo bars are used to help reduce costly damage claims and ensure that the cargo arrives at the next destination in the same condition it left in. Cargo bars work best when paired with dunnage airbags, which help reduce load shifts from side to side of the trailer.

Warning WARNING: Cargo bars do not have load ratings due to the varying conditions of trailer sidewalls. Ratings on the aluminum beams and steel beams are based on and tested at an evenly distributed weight.
